Every plant has a purpose. When it fulfills that purpose, it is fruitful. Some plants were created to bring flowers, when such plants bring forth flowers, they are fruitful. Likewise with Iroko, Orange, Mango, Paw-paw, etc, when they serve their purpose, they are considered fruitful.
Dorcas was a member of the Church of the Apostles of the 1st Century. She heard the words of the Apostles, repented and lived the life of Jesus as written in Acts 10. She decided to go about spreading lights and touching people's lives. She prayed for grace and God answered her. She said to herself, "though I may not be an Orange tree or an Iroko tree, I must do my very best in my area of calling". In verse 36, the Bible says she was full of alms deeds and good works.
As Children of God, most of us desire to be millionaires. Some of us pray "God give me good wife, give me good husband, etc". Your prayer is not bad at all but "there is a BIG difference between the desire of your heart for yourself and the desire of your heart for God's kingdom". Jesus said "seek ye first the kingdom...” That was the prayer of Dorcas. But let me warn you, "anyone seeking the growth of God's kingdom should be ready for satanic attacks". Irrespective of all that you and the church have gone through, I want you to know that God is still on the throne, God is still in control.
Dorcas suffered and died. She wasn't the first to die. Stephen died and many more may have died in between Stephen's death and Dorcas', but when she died, they were not afraid; instead, they prepared her, laid her and sent for Peter. When Peter came, they began to cry, showing him her good works, and also quoted John 15:2. When Peter heard their words, he saw their faith and was moved. He prayed to God, turned to Dorcas and commanded "Tabitha, arise" and she arose! At that point, Dorcas was unable to pray for herself, but her good works and love provoked the love of the brethren.
The True Church of God was founded on love. "I speak forth a new kind of love in the True Church of God from this moment in Jesus name". When a brother or sister is sick or in trouble, let love stir you up to prayer. Stop crying that your church has no power. It wasn't Apostle Peter who unlocked the key to the miracle but ordinary brethren like you and me, whose lives were touched by the love of Dorcas.
In John 15:2, Jesus said "every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit". If you are determined to bring forth fruit, Jesus will purge every obstacle in your financial, material and spiritual life. I urge you to pray that God should purge you in the following areas of your life:
- - Sleep and weakness, spiritual weakness, etc.
- - Every power that opposes your business to prevent you from bearing fruit.
- - Every affliction that will stop you from bearing fruit.
I command all these and more to be purged from your life in Jesus name. From now on, you are FRUITFUL.
